    REACHING ZERMATT

    Arrival by plane

    Zermatt is only a couple of hours away from the international airports of Zurich, Geneva, Basel (Bahles) and Milan, provides its own heliport and it's own transporter: Air Zermatt.


    Arrival by train

    Zermatt is now even closer! Thanks to the new Lötschberg base tunnel from Frutigen (BE) to Visp (VS), the time it takes to reach Zermatt by train has been reduced considerably since December 2007.


    Glacier Express

    By Car:

    Since Zermatt is car-free, private vehicles are only allowed as far as Täsch (5 km from Zermatt). Parking spaces are available in the modern Matterhorn Terminal Täsch (2,000 covered spaces) or with various private suppliers (900 spaces).
    The shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn travel to the centre of Zermatt every 20 minutes and your luggage will be brought along too on the luggage trolley. At the station in Zermatt, you will either be picked up by your host or can transfer for an electric taxi. It is also possible to take a taxi to Zermatt from Täsch. Or park your car in Visp where covered parking spaces are available right by the station. In Visp, you can climb on board a Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train, which will take you to Zermatt.

    Getting around in Zermatt
